Katy was born in Seattle, attended the University of Washington and promptly moved to Alaska. While in Alaska she worked for Icicle Seafoods and became manager of the Quality Assurance Department in Petersburg,  Alaska.

Moving back to Seattle had always been important. In 1999, Katy and her two children moved back to Seattle  full time and she started working for Normandy Mortgage, Inc., with Jim Reischling, her brother. Together as a  team, they have been top producers and worked with folks all over Washington and Alaska, helping people  realize their dream of buying a home, and lowering their monthly obligations by refinancing into a better  solution. In addition, Reverse mortgages have played a major part of their success. Helping those over 62 stay in their homes, have some extra cash and remain financially independent has been an overwhelmingly positive role to play with many families.
